Who We Are

The West Volusia MOAA Chapter (WVMC) is an affiliate of The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). It is part of the Florida Council of Chapters. Chartered on May 28, 1957 as the Military Officers Club of Volusia County. We received our 50th Anniversary Affiliate Award commemorating 50 years of exceptional service on May 28, 2007. Our chapter was incorporated and renamed The West Volusia MOAA Chapter in 2021.

The WVMC is a non-profit, not-for-profit 501(c)(19) Veteran Service Organization (authorized for qualified tax exemptions under the IRS code).

Individuals are eligible for WVMC membership if they hold or have held a warrant or commission in the United States Uniformed Services. These services include the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force. They also include the Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or the commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Surviving Spouses of these individuals are also eligible.

Our Mission

The mission of the WVMC is to promote the aims of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). They advocate for national and state legislative actions. These actions protect the rights of all veterans and uniformed services retirees. They also safeguard the interests of currently serving members of the uniformed services.

Membership Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Chapter Board Meetings are conducted on the 2nd Wednesday.

Editorial Policy

The WVMC is a nonpartisan organization. It is dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense. The WVMC ensures our nation upholds its promises to all currently serving members of the uniformed services. It also honors the commitments to retired and former members and their families.  Information on our website is for educational purposes. It serves the public, Chapter, and members of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).
